Above are pictures taken with our new camera purchased especially for the trip to Vietnam. Thanks so much to Mom, Lee (the birthday gifts), and GG (the Christmas gifts) for making this happen. We splurged and got a camera that takes multiple pictures each second. It's such a nice switch from our other camera, and we're excited about taking lots of pictures during our trip. Chris is bringing the telephoto lens because he insists that we will regret not having a telephoto lens if a water buffalo walks by the van on the way to the orphanage. (We'll definitely be quite a sight in Hanoi as we lug around our giant camera, a toddler in a baby bjorn, a preschooler in a backpack carrier, and another backpack full of who knows what else. We wouldn't have it any other way.
Chloe, Chris, and I are moving fast as we get ready to leave for Vietnam this Friday. We're doing lots of packing, baby proofing, planning, informing... And, we're trying to sneak in a little fun in the mix. It's amazing to think that we'll be with Gabrielle next week. Several of our friends finished their adoptions and are on their way back to the US as I type this email, so we wish them safe and easy travels. In addition, several families still are waiting for travel approval, so we wish them good news in the days to come. This is a joyous time for the families adopting children from TQ, and there's much celebrating to do in the days and months ahead.
